Adult Autism Services

Canada and Associates LLC provides specialized services under the Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) program to support adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in building independence, communication skills, and meaningful community involvement. Our services include Systematic Skill Building to support adaptive, social, and vocational development; Home and Community Habilitation to assist with daily living tasks and integration into community life; and Behavioral Specialist Services such as Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSP), and direct support team training. All services are person-centered and designed to promote dignity, self-determination, and improved quality of life in the least restrictive setting possible.

Eligibility

To qualify for the Adult Autism Waiver, individuals must be age 21 or older, live in Pennsylvania, and have a formal diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with onset before age 22. They must meet the criteria for ICF-level care and be financially eligible for Medicaid. Intake and eligibility assessments are conducted by the Bureau of Supports for Autism and Special Populations (BSASP). Community Support Services

Specialized Skill Development – Community Support
Available in 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 ratios based on participant needs.
Supports include:

  • Social and communication skill building
  • Community navigation and safety
  • Participation in public activities and group learning experiences

Note: This service does not include formal teaching plans or clinical interventions.

Autism Behavior Specialist

Behavioral Support Services

Behavioral interventions delivered by licensed Behavior Specialists.
Includes:

  • 1:1 behavior support sessions
  • Consultation and training for caregivers and staff
  • Implementation and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
    Requires a completed Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and approved BSP.

Plan Development Services

These services guide the creation of effective treatment and support plans:

  • Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
  • Behavior Support Plan (BSP) development
  • Skill acquisition planning tailored to participant goal

Note: These services do not include direct implementation or crisis response.

  • Direct teaching using individualized skill plans
  • Staff training to support consistency in daily routines
  • Use of reinforcement, prompting, and task analysis
